2015 Asheville Bookfest Happens Tomorrow

More free and family-friendly fun coming to downtown Asheville this weekend!

With a motto of “Learn. Connect. Read.,” the popular Asheville Bookfest returns this weekend to the Haywood Park Hotel Atrium for its 7th consecutive year.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 from 10am-4pm, attendees will be able to participate in workshops and round tables ranging from Top 5 Tools for Self Publishing to Learning How To Work With Traditional Publishers.

As always, this is an excellent opportunity to meet the authors in person and acquire autographed copies of their books – perfect gifts for the readers on your holiday list!

A treat for both children and adults alike, the popular Barbie Angell – voted “Mountain X Best Of” poet for 2015 – will be giving away free coloring pages as well as performing some of her poems.

Beginning as a collaborative process between regional authors and local publishers in 2008 with a goal of bringing publishing down to the grassroots level, the Bookfest creates opportunities for authors and publishers to showcase their work, and for the public to meet and discover new books and talent.

Organizing publishers include Grateful Steps, YAV Publications, Pisgah Press, Black Bomb Books, and Spoken Word Inc. With so many great writers and creatives in and around Asheville, this is a strong showcase of NC writers and publishers and the perfect event to celebrate literary arts!
