The 4th Annual Asheville Food Truck Showdown sponsored by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Resort is taking a giant leap and relocating the annual event to the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center. This year’s Showdown will take place on March 25, 2017, between 11:00am and 7:00pm at the WNC Ag. Center.
After 3 years of amazing success at the Masonic Lodge located in downtown Asheville, the organizers have decided to move the event to the WNC Ag. Center to accommodate more food trucks and more of the community. This year there will be 17 food trucks participating in the Showdown. In addition to Showdown there will be live music, fun activities for the kids including a rock climbing wall and bounce houses, and the chance to support a number of local charities including Manna Food Bank, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, Blue Ridge Honor Flight, the YMCA, and many others.
The move to the WNC Ag. Center also provides the opportunity to expand the VIP Tasting Experience which now offers three sittings (12pm, 2pm, and 4pm). The VIP Tasting Experience provides participants the ability to sample food from each of the 17 trucks from the comfort of reserved indoor seating.
The organizers are looking forward to this year’s Showdown and are waiting to see which food trucks will take home the trophies in the Best Overall, People’s Choice, and VIP Favorite categories. Asheville Food Truck Showdown is excited to announce that this year Stu Helm Food Fan, Evan Donovan of WLOS, and Joe Scully of Chestnut and Corner Kitchen will be judging the food trucks’ submissions and will help determine the best food truck in Asheville.
