Asheville Sweeps World Beer Cup 2014

Congratulations, Asheville takes several awards during the international World Beer Cup 2014!

Asheville Brewing Company takes the gold for the Ninja Porter beating 54 other entries.  Wicked Weed Brewing takes a bronze with their Tyrant Double Red Imperial Red Ale.  Other North Carolina breweries also got awarded,  including Mother Earth Brewing in Kinston for their Endless River, Lynnwood Brewing Concern in Raleigh with their Once You Go, and Olde Hickory Brewery with Irish Walker from Hickory, NC.

What is the World Beer Cup? Formed by the Brewers Association in 1996, this competition celebrates the art and science of brewing by recognizing outstanding achievements. This event is often referred to as the Olympics of Beer Competition, and  recognized as the most prestigious beer competition in the world.

    I haven’t tried the Ninja Porter, but I plan to when I come to visit my brother in Asheville this summer!
