Mike Karnowski, former brewer at Green Man Brewing and curator of their renowned sour program, is bottling beer at his own brewery in downtown Weaverville. Zebulon Artisan Ales is going to be totally different from anything else brewing in town. Rather than distributing kegs of beer to local bars and restaurants, the entire seven barrel batch will go into 750ml corked-and-caged bottles. New Belgium Rumor Ails Fans of Local Ales
Since April of 2012, Asheville has been anxiously awaiting the opening of New Belgium Brewing Company’s second production facility, which will be located in the River Arts District of Asheville. The brewing facility and tasting room are expected to open sometime in 2016, which has had excitement at a peak. Pisgah Brewing Celebrates Second Release of Award Winning Beer
Pisgah Brewing Company in beautiful Black Mountain is a popular destination for both locals and tourists who enjoy the local Asheville beer. Their well known regulars like Pisgah Pale and Greybeard IPA are found at nearly every bar and restaurant around town, as well as their excellent seasonal selections. This week, however, Pisgah started pouring and selling bottles of a very special beer, dubbed Chocolatized. This Imperial Stout earned them the Gold Medal in the Chocolate Beer category at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) 2014, undoubtedly the largest event of the year in the American craft beer industry.
