New Belgium Brewing

New Belgium Brewing Company is a craft brewery located in Fort Collins, Colorado. It opened in 1991 after Jeff Lebesch, the brewery's founder, took his homebrewing passion commercially. In 2011, it produced 712,800 barrels of its various labels. As of 2012, it was the third-largest craft brewery and eighth-largest overall brewery in the United States.

Fat Tire, an amber ale, is the company's flagship beer.

New Belgium will be opening the doors to their Asheville location located in the River Arts District in 2016.

New Belgium Brews One for North Carolina

In celebration of their 25th anniversary and grand opening in Asheville, NC, the New Belgium Asheville brewing team is sending their first limited release, one-off beer out of New Belgium’s Asheville brewery to draft lines across North Carolina. The 25th Anniversary Ale is an unfiltered citrus pale ale hopped like an IPA but at a drinkable 5.7% ABV. Beer fans can find the hoppy pale ale on draft at the Asheville Liquid Center now, and at taprooms across the state starting next week.

New Belgium Starts Brewery Tours in Asheville This Week

In an effort to host locals for the first tours, New Belgium hosts day-of tours from Monday, Aug. 29 – Thursday, Sept. 1. Tours, for this limited time, will be booked in person on a first-come, first-served basis, and for that day only. Each tour accommodates up to 25 people, and runs for 90 minutes leaving the Liquid Center on the half hour starting at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m.

Bike from Work Week: 5 WNC Breweries Support Bicycle Advocacy

 National Bike to Work Week is May 16-20 and a handful of WNC breweries are hosting Bike from Work week. Enjoy a beer, support bicycle advocacy, and have your bike tuned at Wedge, HiWire, Highland, Wicked Weed and New Belgium Brewery on your way home from work. Proceeds from pint sales will be split between bicycle advocacy organization Asheville on Bikes and greenway non-profit Friends of Connect Buncombe. Each brewery will host an evening of bike-centric activities. On Friday, May 20 at 6 p.m. at New Belgium Brewery, the breweries will donate collective proceeds to the two non-profits.

On Monday, May 2, beer fans can kick back along the French Broad River in Asheville and sip a Fat Tire Amber Ale in New Belgium’s sparkling new “Liquid Center” tasting room. The doors swing open at 21 Craven Street, Asheville, NC and the public will be able to taste New Belgium beers for the first time at the brewery’s new location. Tasting room hours are Monday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday noon to 8:00 p.m. Public brewery tours will start this summer.

New Belgium Brewing Enters Second Phase of Hiring for Opening Team

 New Belgium Brewing is getting closer to opening their Asheville facilities with an 80-person team that is just over half way built. The 100% employee owned company made their first two Asheville hires co-owners at their annual retreat this summer, will hire approximately 40 additional positions before opening next spring. Additional positions will be hired through full build out over the next handful of years.
