And the Awards Go To…

This post is a little detour from the 99 Pints Series so I could give some major props.

Of course, we all know that the best beers in North Carolina are here in Western North Carolina and we aren’t alone in that knowledge. Ratebeer.com, the well-respected, worldwide, and most-visited beer site has named several local establishments on their best-of lists for 2013 so far (several lists will be released later this month and I’m sure we’ll see more locals).

ratebeer articleEveryone who has heard me talk about local beer has heard me sing the praises of Hi-Wire. I am a major fan of huge hoppiness of Hi-Pitch IPA and I’m in love with their circus-theme. So, it comes as no suprise that ratebeer.com has named Hi-Wire the best new brewer in North Carolina.

On the list of best places for beer in North Carolina, Asheville  brew spots reign supreme. Ratebeer names Barley’s the best restaurant for beers. The Wedge has the best brewer tap room (and is my favorite spot to have a beer on a spring day). Thirsty Monk got best North Carolina bar and  Bruisin’ Ales earned best bottle shop.

Wicked Weed showed up as the North Carolina’s best beer pub as well as one of the five of best beer pubs in all of the US.  Also great, I must mention, one of my fav hometown breweries, Stone, also made the list.

Like I said, as the rest of the ratebeer.com best -of lists  are released, I’m sure we’ll see more  Asheville greatness. So, Let’s raise our pints and congratulate and celebrate these and all the other amazingly wonderful beer spots of WNC.

Salud!
