BaconFest Asheville Returns to Highland Brewing

The 3rd annual Celebration of All Things Swine is Saturday, Aug. 29th

105.9 the Mountain is getting even bigger on the pig with the 3rd Annual BaconFest Asheville on Saturday, August 29th from 1-4pm at the Highland Brewing Company Outdoor Meadow. This year’s event is sure to excite the taste buds of bacon, beer and BBQ aficionados alike with even more bacon-inspired cuisine.

Some of Asheville’s best restaurants will showcase unique pork creations from classic BBQ and good old-fashioned bacon to bacon sweets and bacon inspired sushi. Event attendees will vote on their favorite dishes to help crown restaurant victors in the categories like “Most Outrageous Dish,” “Best Sweet” and “Best BBQ.”

Local restaurants taking the BaconFest Asheville culinary challenge include Chop House, Bouchon, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Mojo Kitchen and Lounge, The Take Out Riverside Grill, Lexington Avenue Brewery, Moe’s Original BBQ, Mellow Mushroom, Asheville Sandwich Company, Copper Crown, Bonfire Barbecue, The Social, Ay Caramba, Korean House, Acropolis Pizza Restaurant, Monte’s Sub Shop, Creekside Taphouse, Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Cakes by Jane, Beef Jerky Outlet, Firewalker Hot Sauce and more.

VIP tickets are already sold out! General Admission tickets are currently available for only $15 at www.BaconFestAsheville.com Children 9 and under are free but still require a ticket for entry. General Admission access to the festival is from 1pm to 4pm. Attendance will be capped at 2,500 people. A portion of the proceeds from BaconFest Asheville ticket sales will benefit Blue Ridge Food Ventures.

In addition to Highland Brewing Company’s stellar lineup of brews available for purchase, 3 specialty casks have been created especially for BaconFest Asheville and will be tapped at the event. These include Gaelic Ale with Brown Sugar and Black Pepper, Oatmeal Porter with Cayenne Pepper and Black Mocha Stout with Maple.

This family friendly event will also feature live music from Bayou Diesel, a BaconFest Photo Booth, bounce house for the kids, and prepackaged BaconFest items available for purchase. BaconFest Asheville is presented by 105.9 the Mountain and Paramount Kia of Asheville with support from Hot Springs Resort and Spa, Massage Envy, Complete Nutrition, Yelp, Dark City Vapor, AMA Wireless and Asheville Festivities.
