Bikini Clad Baristas Wanted for Beach Themed Coffee Shop

Asheville is about to get yet another coffee shop. This one, however, will come with a unique twist. Unlike other coffee shops in the area, Hottie Coffee will be a drive through location, with a bright beach theme. There is one aspect of this new business that has locals wondering how it will hold up. Hottie Coffee is now hiring, and requesting that baristas be comfortable donning bikini and beach wear as a part of their everyday uniform.

Until now, Asheville has not yet experienced the coffee shack movement that is extremely predominant on the west coast. Small coffee buildings that hold on average 2-3 workers at a time, service two windows simultaneously. Drivers can come up to the window, order, and continue on their way to work. This tried and true business model is successful all over the country, and it is bit of a surprise that it has not yet made its way to Asheville yet. All that is changing when Hottie Coffee opens their doors – er windows – sometime in the near future.

Locals are voicing their concerns over the long term feasibility of such a business. A beach theme in the mountains? The Hooters-esque idea of the drive through is making people think that residents won’t put up with beach ready women serving hot beverages for long. In Washington, several bikini clad coffee shops have undergone scandal, with the baristas allegedly serving more than just coffee to customers. With business names such as Java Juggs Espresso, The Hot Spot, and Twin Peaks, it’s a bit fitting the owner of these locations was charged with running what essentially amounted to drive through brothels.

Hottie Coffee will bring a new and interesting twist to the competitive Asheville coffee scene. Rest assured, this independent coffee shop is in no way affiliated with the drive through coffee shops we mentioned earlier.
