Burial Beer Announces Date and Brewery List for Burnpile Harvest Fest

Burnpile Harvest Fest is officially slated for Saturday, October 29th beginning at 12pm at Burial Beer Co.’s taproom on 40 Collier Ave. Now in its third year, Burnpile celebrates the harvest season with live music and seasonally inspired beers from 20+ breweries from around the state of North Carolina and the country. “Harvest Fest originated in Seattle, Washington for us. It was a gathering of our closest friends who would come over and bring food and harvest beers while Doug and Tim would homebrew. It was this incredible celebration of the season that accompanied a lot of colors and smells and visuals,” explains Jess Reiser, Co-Owner of Burial.

“When we moved here we wanted to bring that tradition to Burial so we could celebrate our new community that we had quickly grown close to. The goal was not just to showcase our beers but also the beers of our friends from other breweries, and our patrons as well.”

For the first time in its history, Burnpile will feature a handful of breweries from around the country, a sign of the breweries growth and reach. “Our connection to the craft industry is inherently growing as we attend events around the country and brew collaborations,” state Reiser, “Inviting new breweries is representative of our desire to extend our community to people we now consider friends in the industry.”

This year’s musical lineup features the Twin Studies from Athens, GA as the headliners with Ouroboros Boys rounding out the day’s music, which runs from 5- 9pm. “We think music is a really important element. When we first opened Doug and I bartended more than anyone and we played music that we loved; which was mostly psychedelic rock,” explains Tim Gormley, Co-Owner and Head Brewer. “We try to think of music is a similar vein to beer, and therefore, try to pick styles that we like, but are not super mainstream.”
