Burial Beer Announces Date and Brewery List for Burnpile Harvest Fest

Burnpile Harvest Fest is officially slated for Saturday, October 29th beginning at 12pm at Burial Beer Co.’s taproom on 40 Collier Ave. Now in its third year, Burnpile celebrates the harvest season with live music and seasonally inspired beers from 20+ breweries from around the state of North Carolina and the country. “Harvest Fest originated in Seattle, Washington for us. It was a gathering of our closest friends who would come over and bring food and harvest beers while Doug and Tim would homebrew. It was this incredible celebration of the season that accompanied a lot of colors and smells and visuals,” explains Jess Reiser, Co-Owner of Burial.

Asheville, already well-known for its vegan-friendliness, is taking the plant-based culinary experience in the city to the next level. The 1st Annual Asheville Plant-Based Face-Off, presented by Asheville Vegan Outreach and No Evil Foods and sponsored by VegFund, challenges Asheville restaurants and chefs to put their creativity to the test by offering innovative new vegan dishes. Up to 15 Asheville restaurants are participating, each creating a new menu item free of animal products and offering it to guests for the month of October 2016.

The 29 year old internet personality runs a channel on YouTube called My Drunk Cooking, where laughs are had as Hart cooks food while intoxicated. Since the inception of the weekly show in 2011, Hart has hosted many celebrity guests, including chef Jamie Oliver, author John Green, former pop star Lance Bass, and comedian Sarah Silverman.

Addissae Awarded NC GreenTravel Initiatives Credential

Addissae, Asheville's only restaurant offering Ethiopian cuisine was just awarded recognition by NC GreenTravel Initiatives as North Carolina's newest sustainable destination. Opened late in 2014, Addissae took over the space downtown once occupied by Firestorm Books on Commerce Street, behind The Thirsty Monk. A year after opening, the restaurant fell on hard times and owners Vicki Schomer and Neeraj Kebede launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover expenses as they struggled to stay afloat.
