NC Society for Human Resource Management State Conference Keynote Speakers Announced

 The 2016 North Carolina Society for Human Resource Management State Conference (NCSHRM) will take place September 28-30, 2016, at the U.S. Cellular Center. The largest event of its kind to be hosted by a local association at the U.S. Cellular Center to date, the NCSHRM Conference is an annual gathering of human resources professionals from around the state. Local organizers anticipate 1,000 attendees for the three-day event, with additional attendance expected for the individual keynote speakers and general sessions.

Asheville Outlets to Unveil Tesla Motors Supercharger Station

Asheville Outlets is pleased to announce the installation of a Tesla Motors Supercharger station. Designed for the Model S, the Supercharger houses stations for eight vehicles and will be able to charge them in minutes versus hours. It will be located in the parking lot near the Dillard’s Clearance Center. Representatives from Asheville Outlets, Land of Sky Clean Vehicles Coalition and Blue Ridge Electric Vehicle (EV) Club will be on-site for the official ribbon cutting event, which begins at 1:30 p.m. on December 19th.

Author and Poet Maya Angelou Dead at 86

Well loved Maya Angelou, author and poet, has passed away in her home in Winston Salem North Carolina at 86 years of age. One of her most beloved books, "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" is an autobiography that has been described as "a work of art that eludes description." Angelou was an avid seeker of knowledge, and she held over 30 honorary degrees and taught American studies for years at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem.

Today’s myth? That Love is expensive.  We believe it's something we earn.  We have the idea that we must be good to be  loveable. Often, we shy away from love, because the price tag looks too high.  We have the idea that romantic love will require sacrifices of who we really are. And often it does.
