Puppy Bowl XII Adoption Event and Viewing Party

Puppy Bowl XII will be airing on Sunday, February 7 from 3-5 PM. Four puppies from Asheville Humane Society were selected to be a part of this adorable sporting event, and Bella will be featured in the coveted Starting Lineup. Animal Planet worked with 44 different animal shelters and rescue organizations from across the the U.S. to fill the rosters of #TeamRuff and #TeamFluff. There are 49 puppies, including Bella, that will be competing for the title of MVP (Most Valuble Puppy). Puppy Bowl XII will repeat all day and night for a total of 12 hours on game day.

Asheville Humane Society kicks off its Project Pit Bull Awareness and Action Campaign on June 19 at 6:30 p.m. with a community forum. Deirdre Franklin, founder of Pinups for Pitbulls, owner of Darlings Asheville and author of Little Darling’s Pinups for Pitbulls will lead the discussion, “What is BSL and Can It Keep Us Safe?” The forum is the first of the campaign's free services for pit bull owners, community resources, and other events.

6th Annual Run for the Paws Event Recruits a Different “Breed” of Local Runners for a Good Cause

Returning to Fletcher Park just South of Asheville is the only 5k in our area where dogs aren’t just accepted, but actually on the V.I.M. (Very Important Mammal) section of the guest list! That’s right. The 6th Annual Run for the Paws 5k Run/1 Mile Walk and Wagging Wellness Fair is a competition in the name of good, clean sport and helping animals in need. As you and your very extended family enjoy live music, food, and family fun, you will be helping Asheville’s Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.
