Julie Scoggins headlines the third installment of Funny Business at The Millroom in Downtown Asheville
On Friday, January 10th, Funny Business at the Millroom Presents national headliner Julie Scoggins in downtown Asheville at The Millroom for two high-quality comedy shows at 7:00pm and 9:30pm.
Julie’s regularly heard on XM/Sirius Blue Collar Radio, as well as many syndicated stations including the John Boy & Billy Show, and the Bob & Sheri Show, (Charlotte, NC), & the Bob & Tom Show (Indianapolis, IN). A Southern girl with universal appeal, Julie’s shows sell out from Florida to Oregon. Folks actually WANT to sit in the front row & have been known to return a second night, just so they can bring friends that haven’t yet seen her. “Phyllis Diller started comedy at 37 years old & so did I. She went on to have a fabulous career that lasted over 40 years. I hope to be just as fortunate. It’s so awesome to be doing exactly what I feel like I’m meant to do!”
Special guest for the evening is comedian Cliff Cash. Cliff comes from the religious and conservative south and adds a new twist to stand-up and you won’t soon forget it. Finding absurdities in everyday culture, media, politics and dogma; Cash draws comparisons that others miss. Whether it’s through one of his characters or voices, an angry rant or a satirical rap song, Cliff will make you question what you accept as normal. A rising star on the comedy circuit, Cash is quickly climbing the ranks. He is featuring all over with multiple sets and hours of material, being accepted to the Cape Fear Comedy Festival three years in a row and winning Port City’s Top Comic 2013. Hosting the evening will be Asheville Comedian Kelly Rowe.

About Funny Business at The Millroom: Funny Business at the Millroom brings live, nationally-recognized comedians for 2 shows on a Friday night each month (mostly the 1st Fridays of each month). There will be 3 comedians each show: a local emcee, a feature act and a national headliner. Shows will run around 1 hour and 45 minutes. The headliners will generally all have Comedy Central or equivalent credits. Funny Business Agency (www.funny-business.com), one of the largest agencies in the country booking comedy clubs, is partnering with The Millroom (connected to Asheville Brewing) in downtown Asheville, NC at 66 Asheland Ave. Funny Business also booked The Funny Business Comedy Club at the S&W in Asheville several years ago. Our shows are designed to provide a consistent home in Asheville for high-quality professional standup comedy. The Millroom offers full bar service, food and a selection of AshevilleBrewing’s locally-made craft beers.
