New Belgium Starts Brewery Tours in Asheville This Week

In an effort to host locals for the first tours, New Belgium hosts day-of brewery tours from Monday, Aug. 29 – Thursday, Sept. 1. Tours, for this limited time, will be booked in person on a first-come, first-served basis, and for that day only. Each tour accommodates up to 25 people, and runs for 90 minutes leaving the Liquid Center on the half hour starting at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m.

  • Can’t make it this week? Book tours online for a date after September 2: www.NewBelgium.com/AshevilleBrewery.
  • New Belgium’s free tours run daily on the half hour and reservations are necessary.
  • New Belgium estimates they will give 8,000 public tours, hosting 200,000 people for tours, between both breweries.
  • Ninety percent of the artists that helped build the brewery have shops or studios within five miles of the brewery. Asheville-based film makers Industrious Productions help share those collaborations in this three minute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqhwsj6bIiw&feature=youtu.be

“Public tours are a huge component of the New Belgium experience,” says Tyler Foos, Asheville Liquid Center Manager. “The Liquid Center is where you can choose your own adventure, with access to all the brands we have available. The Tour is the second half of that journey, where you get to peek behind the curtain and learn more about what our brewery culture and business is all about; a snapshot into all the areas that make up New Belgium. Get ready for lots of good times and hi-fives.”

About New Belgium Brewing

New Belgium Brewing Company is a craft brewery located in Fort Collins, Colorado. It opened in 1991 after Jeff Lebesch, the brewery's founder, took his homebrewing passion commercially. In 2011, it produced 712,800 barrels of its various labels. As of 2012, it was the third-largest craft brewery and eighth-largest overall brewery in the United States.

Fat Tire, an amber ale, is the company's flagship beer.

New Belgium will be opening the doors to their Asheville location located in the River Arts District in 2016.
