Four years ago, Jenna Yarosh opened Patton Avenue Pet Company in a revitalized house located on Patton Avenue in West Asheville. With a focus on health, nutrition, and locally made items, Patton Avenue Pet Company’s popularity soon outgrew its humble home base, and the downtown location opened two years ago. With two bustling locations, both conveniently located on Patton Avenue, PAPCO has quickly become a well known local icon.
This morning, February 1st of 2016, Patton Avenue Pet Company signed a lease on what will be their third location. Opening in South Asheville at 582 Hendersonville Road, next to Dreamweaver and K&C’s Party Supplies. With hopes of being open in early April, the goal of this new location is to help more pets and their parents. Yarosh explains “We decided to open another store in order to provide healthy foods and high quality supplies to an under-served market in South Asheville that doesn’t have any local or health-conscious pet stores nearby.”
The new space will be smaller than the downtown store, which is currently the company’s largest location. “Because it’s a smaller space than downtown, we will not be expanding any departments and will likely be eliminating some of the gift products that are more regularly purchased by tourists,” Yarosh tells us.
The existing stores will not not change at all except for a slight new change in management, but Jenna assures us “we [at Patton Avenue Pet Company] will carry the same food and supply brands that everyone loves!”
You can visit the West Asheville location at 1388 Patton Avenue, and the downtown location at 109 Patton Ave.
