RHUBARB, CATAWBA BREWING AND GAINING GROUND FARM WILL HOST A HOLIDAY DINNER BENEFITTING THE POP PROJECT
On Monday, December 12th, Chef John Fleer (Rhubarb) and Catawba Brewing will host a Holiday Dinner benefitting The POP Project at Rhubarb’s Event Space in Asheville, NC.
The dinner will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by a seated multi-course dinner at 7:30 p.m. The menu will feature seasonal bounty from local farmers and producers including produce from Gaining Ground Farm additionally, each course will be paired with unique beers from Catawba Brewing. In the holiday spirit of sharing the table and its bounty, the meal will be served in convivial family style.
“The opportunity to partner with our friends at Catawba Brewing and Gaining Ground Farm for a good cause is yet another demonstration of the power of collaboration in the Asheville food and beverage community,” says chef Fleer.
A portion of the proceeds from the Holiday Dinner will benefit The POP Project. The POP Project is an Asheville-based nonprofit working to spread the power and possibilities of literacy with a mission to bring books to those who could not get to them otherwise. To date, the POP Project has donated over $150,000 worth of books to community organizations, schools, and detention centers in Buncombe County, North Carolina, additional counties around Western North Carolina, and maximum security prisons in five states across the southeast.
