Social Media Superstars To Emcee Annual Puppy Bowl festivities

Social media superstars, serial entrepreneurs, and world-famous animal advocates The Vegan Bros will be playing with puppies and drinking brews at Sanctuary Brewing Company’s (SBC) annual Puppy Bowl on Sunday, February 4th,  all to benefit Brother Wolf Animal Rescue (BWAR) and Sweet Bear Rescue Farm. The famous duo will be flying in from LA to emcee the popular annual event, where puppies play football in an epic showdown of cuddly cuteness.

Phil and Matt Letten boast tens of thousands of social media followers and have been featured on Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC, Vice, NPR and all of the other major media networks for their totally unique and undeniably powerful approach to social change and activism. The two are about to launch a new company, and have a book coming out this year via the world’s largest publisher, Penguin Random House.

“We are beyond excited to have the Vegan Bros host the Puppy Bowl!” says SBC co-founder Lisa McDonald. “We love their message and approach to animal advocacy, With puppies, beer, and the Bros, it’s gonna be such a phenomenal day!”

Now in its third year, the Puppy Bowl is a massively popular event at the Hendersonville, NC, brewery. Each year, dozens of adoptable puppies hit the field for adorable antics. This year’s lineup includes Team Tuff and Team Gruff, with all players available for rescue from Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

Attendees will be asked for a $5 cash donation at the door, and the event will kick off at 2 p.m. Funds raised will benefit BWAR and Sweet Bear Rescue Farm, the new 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by SBC owners Lisa McDonald and Joe Dinan. The farm is home to 17 animals including best friends Ollie the pot bellied pig and Charlotte the chicken; Maggie and Shadow, two newly rescued goats; Oskar the cat; dogs Harry and TT and numerous other furry/feathered inhabitants.

SBC has also raised thousands of dollars for charitable causes since its opening in 2015, offers free Sunday meals for anyone in need, and has a Kindness Wall outside the main entrance that’s always stocked with essentials bags for the local homeless population. Recently featured in Thrive and Our State magazines, Sanctuary has even garnered the attention of big names like comedian Ricky Gervais, racecar driver Leilani Munter, and filmmaker Kip Anderson.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, located in Asheville, was founded in 2007 to provide the resources and life-saving programs to build No-Kill communities. As a grassroots organization, Brother Wolf operates an adoption center that is open to the public — making it easy to adopt, volunteer, and become involved in our No-Kill mission. In 2018, Brother Wolf will be opening a Sanctuary in Leicester, NC as a resource of learning and healing for all.

Great beer, cute puppies, AND a good cause? That’s what we call a good event!

Wow! What a fun event, and for a great cause, too. We will have to add this to our calendar.
