November 2015 marks Pastimes comic book stores' 35-year anniversary serving Asheville and the surrounding communities. The shop is honoring the monumental birthday by offering a huge 35% savings off most products in the store for the entire month of November. Pastimes also has plans for an all day giant birthday party on Saturday November 28th, with free comics, cake and fun for everyone! 35% of ALL profits that day will be donated to “Eblen Charities” for all the hard work they do for the community. Mitchell's Tuxedos is a small shop tucked in the back corner of the Asheville Mall, where they have been serving customers for over 35 years. A family owned business, this local enterprise is one of three storefronts in the mall that are not part of a big box retailer. Owner Kathy Beatty realizes that bigger is not better when it comes to providing customer service and that personal touch that clients crave for their important day. Mitchell's Tuxedos offers the sale and renting of quality tuxedos for prom and weddings, as well as offering business suits available to rent for that important meeting or interview. "We clothe families through generations, and consider it a total commitment. It is so amazing to see some of our clients return with their sons or grandsons to rent their first suit," Beatty tells us.

You don't want to drive to Tunnel road or Woodfin, and everybody knows that comic shop in Candler is only open every other Tuesday from 4:08p.m. to 4:14p.m. right? Not according to Will Hessling, the man who took over ownership of Hero Hunter Comics back in August of 2013. For almost two years now the Candler comic store has been open five days a week and most days eight hours a day, but the short hours rumor still lingers.
