Biltmore Coffee Company Closing

The Biltmore Coffee Company (Not to be confused with Biltmore Coffee Traders on Hendersonville Road), located at 1 North Pack Square, in the bottom portion of the Biltmore Office Building, is closing doors effective Friday, June 27th. Upon hearing this I gave a little gasp of horror as I not only love their space, but I adore their chai lattes. I did a little digging to find out the cause of closure and what would happen to the building.

Asheville is a society of movers and shakers, which means that there is a large population of freelancers in the area. The awesome thing about being a freelancer is you are your own boss, you control your job and your destiny. The bad thing about freelancing is that is generally means lack of workspace. Working at home is cool, but when your entire house starts to feel like your office, it is time to mix things up. The last thing any freelancer needs is to constantly feel like you are in 'work' mode, especially in the confines of your own home. It's healthy to be able to separate home life from work life and work from a remote location.

ok. i admit it. my tastes are all over the place. when it comes to coffeehouses and cafes, i like everything. or at least, i like something about everything. i think that's my stubbornly optimistic, idealistic, find-the-positive-in-everything personality. annoying to some, perhaps. but, to me, it's just how i am. i can't change. i don't want to change. and i don't think i even could change.
