2017 Asheville Food Truck Showdown

The 4th Annual Asheville Food Truck Showdown sponsored by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Resort is taking a giant leap and relocating the annual event to the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center.  This year’s Show Down will take place on March 25, 2017, between 11:00am and 7:00pm at the WNC Ag. Wicked Weed Announces Sour Festival Brewery Lineup

Eblen Charities and Wicked Weed Brewing are gearing up for the third annual sour festival scheduled for Saturday, July 16th. The Funkatorium Invitational (formerly Funk Asheville) will host 50+ breweries both well established and up and coming that are paving the sour and wild path for craft beer. Ticket sales are slated for Monday, May 9th beginning at noon via ETIX.

Hi-Wire Celebrates Biltmore Big Top Opening

Hi-Wire Brewing opened their new Biltmore Big Top tasting room and brewing facility Saturday, July 25th and I was very glad to be there for a truly incredible grand opening. Hi-Wire showed everyone a fantastic time with circus performers, free tours of the facility, food trucks and a handful of beers created just for this night!

Bonfire Barbecue Set to Open in West Asheville

Jeffrey Barcelona is an Asheville native that will be bringing barbecue to the citizens of west Asheville on May 1st. "We've been thinking of doing this for a few years," Barcelona explains, pointing to himself and his wife while sitting in a booth at the quickly progressing Bonfire Barbecue location on Patton Avenue. "We moved to Portland Oregon for a few years, and started up a food truck." Their food truck, which served fried chicken became wildly popular, voted one of the top 10 food trucks in Portland, and appeared on Food Network. Shortly after that, the couple sold the truck and moved back home to Asheville, explaining that it was much easier to start up a business when surrounded by friends and family.
