Burial Beer Releases First Sour Beers In Bottles

The first offerings from Burial Beer’s Mixed Culture Program are set to release this Sunday, May 28th at 12pm from their South Slope taproom with no distribution of these limited bottles slated. Fall of the Damned is a 500ml Bourbon Barrel Aged Sour Red Ale that began in a Brunelli foudre where it rested for 3 months before moving to bourbon barrels for 9 months and then was blended and racked onto 2lbs of blackberries and marionberries per gallon for additional aging.

Catawba Brewing will host Appalachian Oktoberfest under the Festhalle erected in the side Courtyard at 32 Banks Avenue on September 22. Cecil’s Culinary Tour comes to the Courtyard at Catawba Brewing, for another culinary adventure.  This time, the creative Cecilia will delve into German foods most associated with Oktoberfest. Two food stations will be set up for faster service and the menu will focus on classic south German foods, including pretzels, cured pork dishes, and a dessert that will knock your lederhosen off!  Cecilia describes the dessert as pumpkin, dipped in lime to make it crunchy on the outside, then boiled in maple syrup and served with brie and walnuts.

Green Man Brewery’s Wayfarer IPA and Sunseeker Pils Now Available Year-Round

Due to popular demand, Green Man Brewery is increasing production of their first-ever canned offerings, Wayfarer IPA and Sunseeker Pils. The Asheville, NC brewery released it's first can, Wayfarer IPA, in March of 2016 and it's second can, Sunseeker Pils this June.

A Beer Festival Beyond Just Tasting – Asheville Beer Expo

This past Saturday, February 27th, The Venue in Downtown Asheville was filled wall-to-wall with craft beer lovers, brewers, and entrepreneurs as they hosted the Asheville Beer Expo.  The Asheville Brewers Alliance invited about 30 breweries to this variation on a common beer festival.

Thirsty Fest Sept 2-8

Let’s Get Wild!! Monday kicked off Thirsty Monk’s Fourth Annual Thirstyfest. Thirstyfest is a celebration of rare, wild, and obscure beers and they have some doozies. They have been stashing, hoarding and cellaring beers all year for this, some of them will never be available again! The full list of beers is available on the Thirsty Monk website.
