New Belgium Starts Brewery Tours in Asheville This Week
In an effort to host locals for the first tours, New Belgium hosts day-of tours from Monday, Aug. 29 – Thursday, Sept. 1. Tours, for this limited time, will be booked in person on a first-come, first-served basis, and for that day only. Each tour accommodates up to 25 people, and runs for 90 minutes leaving the Liquid Center on the half hour starting at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m.

B Corp Hackathon to Put Local Businesses on Certification Fast Track
The owners of area certified B Corporations (B Corps) and Mountain BizWorks have joined forces as the Asheville B Corp Network with one goal in mind: to make Western North Carolina a B Corp hub. To that end, they invite companies currently working toward certification or others interested in learning more about becoming a B Corp to their Fast Track Hackathon on June 21 at Deltec Homes from 3 to 5 pm. Attendees will work toward completing the B Impact Assessment—central to the certification process—and will be able to share and learn best practices with existing B Corps and representatives from the B Lab certifying agency. Deltec, WNC’s newest certified B Corp, will offer an optional tour of their facility from 2:30-3 pm before the event begins. A networking social will immediately follow the hackathon from 5:30 until 7 pm at New Belgium Brewing, also a proud B Corp engaged both locally and globally in the cause.

Can we get an "Amen!"? Two years after its initial release, New Belgium Brewing’s RyePA is coming back with a nod to the brewer’s dual hometowns in Colorado and North Carolina. Originally brewed with Carolina Rye™, heirloom rye grown in North Carolina and floor malted by Riverbend Malt House in Asheville, RyePA revival also incorporates rye from Colorado Malting, a fourth-generation family farm in Alamosa, CO. New Belgium Brewing Enters Second Phase of Hiring for Opening Team
New Belgium Brewing is getting closer to opening their Asheville facilities with an 80-person team that is just over half way built. The 100% employee owned company made their first two Asheville hires co-owners at their annual retreat this summer, will hire approximately 40 additional positions before opening next spring. New Belgium Brewing will kick off their Asheville hiring phase at Asheville’s 9th Annual Homecoming Job Fair on January 7, 2015. The company will hire about 50 full-time positions with benefits for their Asheville location throughout 2015, and at full build out their east coast digs will be home to approximately 140 full time coworkers. Additional sales positions will be hired in cities along the eastern seaboard as they expand.
