All proceeds from this event will directly benefit the Asheville Humane Society and the life saving work they do daily.

Over the next few weeks, Brother Wolf’s chapter projects in McDowell, Rutherford, and Dickenson counties will all become independent non-profit organizations. Brother Wolf originally began these auxiliary chapters with the intention of reducing the counties’ kill rates and ultimately developing each chapter into a self-sustaining, separate entity. After several years of growth, the chapters are ready to bring this goal to fruition.

Leah Craig Fieser, Brother Wolf’s new Executive Director who joined the organization in February when founder Denise Bitz resigned, has spent the past couple of months reviewing financial information and working closely with staff and board members to best understand the state of the organization. When Fieser began her role, she vowed to lead the organization with accountability and transparency.

Asheville Humane Society announces that their executive director, Tracy Elliott, has resigned from his position, effective February 15. Last month, Elliott informed the organization and its supporters of his planned departure. Personal matters are calling him to be closer to his parents in the Midwest, and Elliott has accepted the position of President at the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago.
