Employees from Asheville, NC-based Tupelo Honey Cafe have launched a new online campaign on Coworker.org calling on the company to improve wages. The petition, started by Tupelo Honey employees with support from the Asheville Sustainable Restaurant Workforce (ASRW), states that in the past year, Tupelo Honey has cut back on discounts and food for staff while also reducing wages for support staff by over $3 per hour.

April 29th, 2015 at 7 am Publix will open doors to Asheville for the very first time. The store located at 1830 Hendersonville road in South Asheville will be the 1,101th store in the country. Citizens have been eagerly awaiting the much loved native Florida grocery store, and several are wondering if the store will live up to the hype. We got a sneak peek at the new store this morning that we are eager to share with our readers.

I had the delightful occasion to dine a few weeks ago at Kathmandu, in downtown Asheville, North Carolina. I am a bit partial to exotic flavors and tastes, and adventurous. Apart from an unpleasant experience with some freshly caught undercooked grilled octopus in Cozumel, my escapades in finding new and delicious off-the-beaten path items has been quite exciting indeed.
