Bold Rock Hard Cider Celebrates Opening in Mills River

Today, the largest hard cider marker in the Carolinas opened their doors to hundreds of excited locals. Only a few miles from  Sierra Nevada Brewery, Bold Rock Hard Cider welcomed visitors to their 22,500 square foot bottling facility at 72 School House Road in Mills River. The two level tasting room overlooks the production space, where locally sourced apples will be turned into alcoholic beverages available in a variety of flavors.

Sierra Nevada Launches 2015 With 3 All New Beers

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is debuting two year-round beers in early 2015: the intensely hop-heavy Hop Hunter IPA and thesessionable Nooner Pilsner. The brewery will also unveil its newest spring seasonal selection, Beer Camp Hoppy Lager, for a total of three brand-new beers for craft drinkers to explore.Hop Hunter IPA feature soil from wet hops steam distilled in the hop field, minutes after harvest—for the first time, drinkers can taste wet-hop character year-round.

Sipping Beer Now and Zen

I’m sitting at Thirsty Monk South sipping an IPA -- hoppy goodness in a pint. Work was crazy and it’s only Monday. I take a slow sip and look off into the distance and take a long deep breath. It’s far from quiet here but the pressure and stress of the day seems to belong to someone else now. The sun is shining (for now) and fellow patrons are chattering and laughing. Outside, some birds are singing their songs.
