While Asheville identifies as Beer City USA, there is more than just craft beer available on tap. Home to a number of cideries, Asheville and the surrounding area including Black Mountain and Mills River offer beautiful views and delicious drinks. Cider is a sweeter alternative to beer and appeals to those who don’t like the traditional taste of alcohol. A small batch nomadic cider company that currently calls the Asheville River Arts District home. Daidala Ciders is located on the second floor of the Cotton Mill Studios alongside of the Andy Herod Gallery.

Asheville’s first hard cider company. Located just a few miles from Downtown Asheville, Noble offers a taproom with tasting space and dart lanes. Noble is also dog friendly!

Treerock offers a diverse selection of local, national and international craft cider and mead. Perfect if you want to try multiple local ciders but are on a time crunch.

Urban Orchard Cider Company was the second hard cidery in Asheville, and the first in West Asheville. They offer wonderful indoor and outdoor seating just outside of the Asheville River Arts District.

Urban Orchard Cider Co Downtown
Opened in fall of 2018, Urban Orchard Cider Co in Downtown Asheville is located on the South Slope, nestled between local Asheville breweries. The building is the former home of Eagle’s Nest Outfitters.

Appalachian Ridge Artisan Hard Cider
Located in Hendersonville at 749 Chestnut Gap Road, this cidery is the second in Hendersonville and opened summer in 2018.

Carefully crafted ciders and mead using local apples and honey. Black Mountain Ciderworks and Meadery was founded in March of 2013.

Between Hendersonville and Asheville in the community of Mills River is Bold Rock. This is the second location of the large cidery that is originally from Virginia. Dog and kid friendly.

Flat Rock Cider Company is Hendersonville’s first cidery, circa 2016. Flat Rock Cider Co prides themselves on a “from orchard to glass” philosophy.
Currently Flack Rock Cider does not have a tasting room, but you can find cans in Hendersonville grocery stores.
