ASHEVILLE MUSIC TODAY TO LAUNCH SUNDAY, JULY 21 AT 7PM

ASHEVILLE, NC. – Chris Schieman Media and Marketing is excited to announce the launch of Asheville Music Today, which will be streamed live on www.ashevillemusictoday.com starting Sunday July 21st, 2013 at 7 p.m. The show’s first guests will be The Bread and Butter from Asheville and Terina Plyler from Brevard.

Asheville Music Today is an innovative weekly one-hour live talk show featuring and promoting local music of all genres from Asheville, Western North Carolina and East Tennessee. The show is hosted by national broadcasting veteran Chris Schieman.

“This show is going to generate buzz because it’s going to be unpredictable while giving musicians a real voice,” Schieman said. “It’s not a normal talk show where the usual questions are asked. It’s going to be deeper, funnier and edgier than a traditional talk show.”

Asheville Music Today will feature two musical guests each week. “We’ll talk about a variety of topics. Things going on in the world, the music industry, whatever may be annoying me that particular day,” Schieman said. “I’m a student of Jack Paar and David Letterman. This show will reflect that brand of intelligent and fun, sometimes silly conversation.”

Asheville Music Today will also include live performances of local established acts as well as up and coming musicians. “I look forward to meeting some of the bigger acts but I’m really looking forward to giving new music a voice. There’s so much great music here and we’re going to try like hell to cover all of it,” Schieman said. Musicians will perform anywhere between 2-4 songs per show.

Asheville Music Today will include guests from different genres of music per show and will feature fan interaction. “Viewers can also take part in the conversation during the show by using the hashtag #AVLMusicToday on Twitter,” Schieman said.

Asheville Music Today will be based out of Newfound Sound Studios as well as Hillcreek Recording Studios. “I’m so grateful to these studios for allowing us to do the show, to afford us the opportunity to have a place for intimate conversation and music,” Schieman said.

Asheville Music Today will air live each week on Sunday evening from 7-8. The show will also be free to watch live and available as an audio podcast for download for free the Monday after every show. Sponsorships are available starting at $5 per message or $200 yearly.
