Sanctuary Brewing Company Celebrates One Year of Craft Brews and Rescues

Sanctuary Brewing Company is thrilled to announce its one year anniversary party on Sunday, August 21st 2016. The celebration will be a festival-like atmosphere with live music and events beginning at 1 pm, culminating in a headlining performance by the popular Carolina string band Town Mountain at 3 pm.

Located in the heart of downtown Hendersonville, Sanctuary Brewing Company is known for its amazing craft beers and unabashed dedication to animal advocacy. Owners Lisa McDonald and Joe Dinan share a vision for creating a business grounded in compassion and committed to helping better animals and humans alike.

In their first year of business, Sanctuary has already raised close to $3,000 for groups such as Team ECCO Ocean Center & Aquarium, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, Blue Ridge Humane Society,The Turtle Hospital, Earthshine Nature Programs and Full Circle Farm Sanctuary. The brewery features a Kindness Wall where donated food and clothing are offered for free to those in need, and a weekly “Free Meal Sunday”, where anyone may enjoy a delicious meal without any need for payment.

Animal Advocacy:

Sanctuary has partnered with Brother Wolf, Blue Ridge Humane Society and other organizations to feature weekly animal adoption events including the popular Yoga With Cats, Adoption Wednesdays and monthly Pup Crawls which have yielded over one-hundred animal adoptions.

Entertainment:

Programming world-class entertainment has been of the utmost importance to Sanctuary Brewing. Get Up Stand Up South, Hendersonville’s only comedy showcase and open mic, Trivia Tuesdays, and all ages activities such as Tie Dye and crafting classes are only some of the many unique events not commonly found in the breweries of Western North Carolina. Sanctuary has also featured national recording artists such as Bobby Bare Jr., Town Mountain, and Dangermuffin, as well as local standouts like Aaron Burdett, Eric Congdon, Nikki Talley, Sean Bendula  and many more.

Beers:

Each night, Sanctuary serves up a rotating list of sixteen handcrafted beers of all styles and imaginings. Whether its the Hop Pig IPA, the Lemon Ginger Hendo Weisse or the Cookies and Cream Chocolate Porter, Joe Dinan has a knack for creating bold flavor combinations and beers that have been praised by even the most discerning palates. Sanctuary Brewing is proud to compete in the 2016 Great American Beer Festival, the premier competition for brewers in the United States.

The 2013 winners of IBMA Momentum Awards for Performance Band and Vocalist of the Year (Robert Greer), Town Mountain has earned raves for their hard-driving sound, their in-house songwriting and the honky-tonk edge that permeates their exhilarating live performances, whether in a packed club or at a sold-out festival.
