On Saturday, October 5, 2019, the WNC Nature Center will host their 43rd annual Hey Day fall festival from 10am-4pm. The event includes fun for the whole family: arts and crafts, a scavenger hunt, a hay maze, music, face painting (additional fees apply), and exciting animal programs with furry and feathered ambassadors.
Professor Whizzpop will be at the Nature Center providing fun entertainment for kids and families, and community partners including RiverLink, BearWise, and Mountain Wild! will be present with interactive booths. Food will also be available for purchase from Papa John’s Pizza, Gypsy Queen Cuisine food truck, Sun’s Out Buns Out Hot Dogs, Kona Ice, and the Nature Center Gift Shop.
“Hey Day is a long standing tradition within the Nature Center’s history,” says Eli Strull, Curator of Education and Guest Experience. “It’s a great opportunity for families within the community to come together and celebrate the beginning of the fall season and the natural beauty this region has to offer.”
Regular Nature Center admission rates apply; Friends members receive free admission. Additional event information is available at wildwnc.org/event/hey-day-festival and through the WNC Nature Center’s Facebook page.
