The 75th Annual Asheville Holiday Parade, presented by Bojangles of WNC, rolls, dances and marches through downtown Asheville on Saturday, November 20 beginning at 11am. The parade features more than 100 entries including marching bands, dance and cheer squads, youth sports, nonprofits and businesses. This year’s parade theme is “Celebrating 75 Years of Memories and Magic.”
The Annual Asheville Holiday Parade is produced by the Asheville Downtown Association (ADA), in partnership with the City of Asheville.
“We are hopeful and cautiously excited that we can bring the Holiday Parade back to our community this year,” said Meghan Rogers, ADA’s executive director. “And, be sure to stay tuned for our Grand Marshal announcement on October 1,” she added.
The Asheville Downtown Association will monitor Covid-19 trends, consult with local public health and medical officials, and follow any guidelines set forth by the CDC, State of North Carolina, Buncombe County and the City of Asheville.
Parade entries include a little something for everyone with decorated floats, adoptable pets from area rescue organizations, the Honored Veterans float, marching bands, performances, and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus. An application for entry in the parade is available here.
The parade’s official performance stop is located at the corner of Biltmore and Patton Avenues, but attendees will find great viewing areas all along Biltmore and Patton Avenues. The parade ends on Patton Avenue at S. French Broad.
Parking is available in City of Asheville and Buncombe County parking decks, as well as private decks and surface lots throughout downtown. Several streets are closed or impacted by the parade. Attendees are encouraged to ride ART public transit, bike or walk to the parade to ease congestion.
