Wednesday- The Prayer Biere d’ Peche:

This is the second release in our fruit infused Belgian Blonde series, A Belgian Blonde brewed using Pilsner, Torrified Wheat, Vienna, Acidulated and Honey Malts, Candi Sugar and Rakau and Tettanger hops then aged on 130lbs of peaches. Big on fruit and body, slightly tart with a dry finish.

Thursday- Beacon Heather Gruit:
Gruit is a style of beer that uses herbs to bitter the beer instead of hops is an was popular when hops were not. Instead of using hops in this beer, we used the herb, heather. May it be true history or simply folklore, it is said that the farmers of Scotland carried torches of burning heather around their fields before midsummer to insure good crops and around their cattle to ensure their fertility. In modern mysticism, burning heather is said to bring rain. Inspired by these images, we thought we’d encapsulate smoking heather in a wild ale. Not a single hop added, sour mashed and finished with Scottish yeast for authenticity.
ABV: 4%      OG: 1.042         IBU: 0       Color: Red

Sunday- Smorgasbord Juniper Rye Porter:
perfect beer for the change in season. Brewed with Rye Malt, Chocolate Rye Malt and a variety of black and brown malts, we aged this flavorful beer on juniper berries in honor of Smoke Signals Bakery’s event, Smorgasbord, a celebration of Scandinavian culture.
ABV: 5%      OG: 1.051         IBU: 34       Color: Black

Four Farms:

On Saturday September 19th at 2pm we are celebrating beer, food and local agriculture with an event benefiting Carolina Farm Stewardship Association. 4 breweries including Wicked Weed Brewing, Fonta Flora Brewery and Haw River Farmhouse Ales will have four different farmhouse beers pouring. It gets better- each brewery has partnered with chefs who also have a focus on seasonal and local ingredients to create plates to pair with the beers. The event starts at 2pm with live music from The Asheville Waits Band from 3-6pm. We will be selling commemorative event glassware for $5 with a portion of the revenue going to benefit Carolina Farm Stewardship Association.
