Catawba Brewing Releases Barrel-Aged Apricot Brett Farmhouse Ale

Catawba Brewing taps a special barrel-aged Apricot Brett Farmhouse Ale (7.5 percent ABV) on Thursday, June 29, celebrating the halfway point of their 2017 Passport Program. The beer spent six months in neutral oak barrels with Brettanomyces, then an additional two months of conditioning on fresh apricots. It has emerged with a complex flavor profile bursting with bright sour fruit, farmhouse funk, and a hint of oak.

Apricot Brett Farmhouse Ale is Passport Beer #26 of 52 in Catawba’s 2017 Small Batch rewards program. Brewed in their Asheville South Slope brewhouse, the beer will be available exclusively in Catawba’s four tasting rooms.

Catawba Passport holders who have collected 26 stamps may pick up their “2nd Layover” prize at participating locations – Asheville South Slope, Asheville Biltmore Village, or Morganton. The 26-stamp prize, an exclusive Catawba branded two-glass set, may be redeemed at any time. Additionally, Passport Program participants who received all 13 stamps for Quarter 2 will be eligible to enter a drawing for Navitat Zipline Adventure Tours and other bonus rewards. The drawing will be held at Catawba’s South Slope tasting room on Thursday, July 13.
