DRIVE ELECTRIC (CARS) FOR EARTH DAY AT ASHEVILLE OUTLETS

SUNDAY, APRIL 28, 2019 from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m.

Hosted by Blue Ridge Electric Vehicle Club and Western North Carolina Tesla Owners

Free and Open to the Public

Join the Blue Ridge Electric Vehicle Club and Western North Carolina Tesla Owners for Drive Electric Earth Day on Sunday, April 28th, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Asheville Outlets. The event is sponsored by Land of Sky Clean Vehicles Coalition and Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. The event is free and open to the public. 

Along with local electric vehicle (EV) drivers and their vehicles, electric bicycles and yard equipment will be on display. Featured electric vehicles will include the Tesla Model 3, Chevy Bolt and the 2019 Nissan Leaf. Plus, the latest all electric Jaguar IPace. Owners will be available to answer questions about the EV lifestyle including charging, costs and performance.

Several hotels have special rates for those attending Drive Electric Earth Day, including Holiday Inn Express & Suites Asheville SW – Brevard Road, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott – Asheville South and Lake Powhatan Recreational Area/Campground. At Asheville Outlets, electric charging stations are located in the parking lot near Coach Outlet and the Food Court. Tesla Superchargers are located in the parking lot near Dillard’s Clearance Center.

“Drive Electric Earth Day at Asheville Outlets is an interactive opportunity to learn more about the functionality of electric vehicles and their positive environmental impact,” explains Asheville Outlets, General Manager, Sharon Morgan. “We are proud to host this Earth Day event, where visitors can learn more about the benefits of electric vehicles while enjoying a fun and festive day,” she continues.

“In a just a few years, the electric vehicle industry has moved into the mainstream culture. There’s no stopping it now. Once you drive an EV, you never go back,” comments Rudy Beharrysingh, President of the Blue Ridge Electric Vehicle Club. The Blue Ridge Electric Vehicle Club is a local non-profit affiliated with the national Electric Automobile Association, dedicated to promoting sustainable electric transportation.  

The Western North Carolina Tesla Owners Group (Facebook.com/groups/WNCTesla) is an Official Tesla owners club for Western North Carolina/Asheville area. Their mission is to bring together Tesla owners and those interested in becoming owners. The free electric car show is part of a national event, Drive Electric Earth Day that takes place during the month of April.
