Pets Helping Pets Campaign
Asheville Humane Society is launching the Paw it Forward Campaign presented by Dog Tag Art to benefit the homeless animals of Buncombe County. AHS’ first large-scale crowdfunding campaign will run from April 15 to June 15 with the goal of raising $60,000. Paw it Forward is not your typical peer-to-peer fundraising campaign—pet-to-person is more accurate, as campaigners will ask for donations in the “voice” of their pet.
“We know people in the community care deeply about homeless animals as well as their own pets,” said Tracy Elliott, Executive Director of Asheville Humane Society. “Paw it Forward brings those two passions together with the goal of enhancing our care to both shelter animals and at-risk animals in the community. It’s also a chance to feature your adorable pets and let people hear their ‘voice.’ Paw it Forward provides every animal lover in the community the opportunity to ensure homeless animals are safe, healthy, and thriving.”
Digital fundraising has the ability to reach a large audience of potential supporters who might not be familiar with the mission of Asheville Humane Society. Through this campaign, AHS hopes to spread the word about their lifesaving programs that impact thousands of animals each year, including over 8,000 in 2015 alone. By joining the cause, campaigners can directly contribute to these programs and enable AHS to assist even more animals in 2016.
The pets who raise the most will be crowned Paw it Forward’s “Top Pawlanthropists” at the Victory Celebration and Open House at the Animal Care Campus of AHS on Sunday, June 26 from 1-4 pm. Sign up or donate at pawitforward.everydayhero.do.
