Residents of Weaverville rejoice; a Publix Super Market will be opening in 2017. Publix is the largest employee owned grocery chain in the United States. In April of 2015, the popular Florida grocery store opened their first Western North Carolina location on Hendersonville Road in Asheville. Now out of town residents will be able to enjoy all that Publix offers when the 49,000 square foot store opens in Weaverville.
The new store will be located in Weaverville Plaza, close to Interstate 26 & Weaver Blvd. Weaverville Plaza is a 139,000 square foot shopping center anchored by discount store Rose’s and Big Lots. Aldi, Ingles, and a Wal-Mart SuperCenter currently serve as the grocery shopping options for Weaverville residents.
Publix offers a variety of food and services to their customers; hormone free meat products, made from scratch deserts and pastries; cheap, low cost and no cost prescriptions from their pharmacy; freshly made sushi; and more.
AshevilleBlog will have more updates as the construction on the new Publix site progresses.
A great move by Publix especially by promoting hormone free meat.
I’ve been waiting for years for Publix to get here & it’s even better being in Weaverville where I live. It really is a great store to shop at & a very pleasant experience. Employees are the most cheerful you will ever find.
A great move by Publix to make our lives easier and reduce the travel distance for good groceries supermarket.
