Bold Rock Hard Cider Celebrates Opening in Mills River

Today, the largest hard cider marker in the Carolinas opened their doors to hundreds of excited locals. Only a few miles from  Sierra Nevada Brewery, Bold Rock Hard Cider welcomed visitors to their 22,500 square foot bottling facility at 72 School House Road in Mills River. The two level tasting room overlooks the production space, where locally sourced apples will be turned into alcoholic beverages available in a variety of flavors.

Open since early December, Bold Rock Hard Cider officially welcomed visitors to their facility today during their Be Bold & Local Day. Farm to Fender was there serving delicious wares, and guests could sip and listen to live music from A Social Function. The first 25 visitors in the door received a free Bold Rock Hard Cider T-Shirt from their retail shop. Jeff Anders, Justin Burrell, Jessie Barry and Mike Barnes launched the Live Music Year at Bold Rock-Mills River.

Since mid-December, all Bold Rock Hard Ciders purchased in any Asheville store were made in the Mills River Cidery, the second location for the Virginia owned company. The original location in Nellyford, VA is focusing on serving the District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania as well as their home state. Bold Rock Mills River is taking over distribution for North Carolina and is bottling, canning, and drafting cider for distribution in Tennessee and South Carolina.

Bold Rock Mills River currently offers 8 different ciders on tap, pints, and tasting flights. Their normal hours are 11-6 Monday through Saturday, and 12-6 Sunday.
