COVID-19 Vaccination Information:
- The best COVID-19 vaccine is the first one available to you. Do not wait for a specific brand. All currently authorized and recommended vaccines are safe, effective, and reduce your risk of severe illness.
- You cannot get COVID-19 from the vaccine.
- You may have a temporary reaction like a sore arm, headache, fever or feeling tired and achy for a day or two after you get a vaccine. This is normal and a sign that your immune system is learning how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19.
- It works. Authorized vaccines have been proven to help prevent COVID-19 are effective in preventing hospitalization and death. And you’re protected. Your privacy is protected at all times — no personal information will be sent to the CDC.
- The vaccine has not yet been shown to reduce the transmission of the virus; therefore it is important to continue to follow the public health guidance around prevention even after receiving the vaccine, including all of the following: proper social distancing, wearing a mask or face shield when out in public, frequently washing your hands — and, if any symptoms develop consistent with COVID-19, self-isolate and get tested.
