Looking Glass Creamery Expanding

Looking Glass Creamery, owned by Jennifer & Andy Perkins, is expanding production and building a new facility with underground cheese aging caves in the agricultural heart of Polk County, NC. Their existing facility located in Fairview, NC will also be renovated to offer more retail and food service options and improved parking. The new cheesemaking operation will add to the burgeoning agricultural economy in Polk County and fit well alongside the numerous vineyards, five wineries, diversified vegetable operations, and livestock farms already thriving in the area. The new facility will be located on the historic Harmon Dairy, a second generation cow dairy run by brothers, Doug and Alan Harmon.

Frostbite Ice Cream To Open Second Location

Frostbite Ice Cream is an up and coming soft service ice cream shop that opened in November of 2015. Located in the parking lot of the newly remodeled Sky Lanes bowling alley on Patton Avenue, Frostbite serves freshly made ice cream made with local ingredients. In addition their soft serve offerings, the unique shop offers beignets, coffee, shaved ice, cotton candy and brownies.

Frostbite Ice Cream Comes to Patton Avenue

Friends Jason Istvan and Caleb Autrey have a few things in common: they love Asheville, and they love ice cream. After two years of planning, they are thrilled to be opening their joint venture, Frostbite Ice Cream in Asheville in October. Located on Patton Avenue in the parking lot of Sky Lanes bowling alley, FrostBite Ice Cream will be 1,000 sq feet of soft serve paradise. Using local ingredients to create unique flavors, Frostbite plans to offer 12 different types of soft serve ice cream and 40 fun toppings.
