Medea Galligan of Medea's Espresso and Juice Bar has been selected to be the corporate health coach by Kitchen Craft Cookware. Kitchen Craft Cookware is owned by Advanced Marketing International, and will be having Medea help the company by showing health through nutrition. She will be writing articles, sharing recipes, and hopes to start training people for the company right here in Asheville as soon as this winter.

What to Do in Asheville in Winter

Whenever there’s snow on the ground, Asheville seems to go into hibernation. No one dares drive on thevsalt-caked roads, the stores and restaurants empty, and the schools, government, and banks all close up for the day. Only the post office remains open. If you do catch sight of a solitary figure trudging down the street in his parka, the only thought that comes to mind is: “Poor soul.”

Big Changes for South Asheville

I used to avoid South Asheville at all cost. After moving to the south side a couple years ago, I have grown very fond and extremely comfortable here. Biltmore Park has grown and flourished into its own little community. Further, inviting big city names to become a part of our town. Dining with Metro favorites such as P.F. Changs and Brixx. Luxury hotel rooms in the Hilton. Education in town, instead of abroad with Western Carolina University. Specialty Shopping with REI and Orvis are here, now.

Day 34: On mosaics, community, & expectations.

it was mostly cloudy and chilly, and all i wanted was to find a little, dark, cozy cafe corner all to myself. i wanted to order something warm and pumpkin-y and yummy. i wanted to open my computer and sit there for a couple of hours. working, nesting, snuggling. sounds perfect, huh? do you think that's how it went for me? nope. it did not go like that. not at all.
