Asheville’s very favorite laundromat/pizzeria/bar hybrid, Bar of Soap, is officially out of business. According to sources we talked to today, the pizzeria inside – Del Viccios Italian, will remain in the building and operating. The bar and all of the brews it offers will also remain open to the public. As of January 29th, 2015, the laundromat side of things is officially closed. One wonders if the closing of the laundromat has any link to the closure of The Asheville Growler. The fill your own beer store (Asheville’s first) closed in September 2014, for unspecified reasons.
Bar of Soap has been operating at 333 Merrimon Avenue since December 2011. The Asheville Growler was owned by the same individual that currently operates the remnants of the laundromat.
