Downtown After 5 Goes Live Stream, Immediate Support for Area Music Professionals

The Asheville Downtown Association (ADA) and Foundation (ADAF) today announced that they’re taking Downtown After 5 virtual, as well as a new program to directly support Asheville music professionals. Based on state and local guidelines regarding public gatherings, the May 15 and June 19 Downtown After 5 events are going online. Through a partnership with IamAVL and The Orange Peel, Downtown After 5 will be live streamed to YouTube and Facebook.

Gentry Heating, Inc. and First Citizens Bank raise $10,132 of crucial funds for ABCCM

On March 18, 2020, at 1348 Charlotte Hwy, Fairview, NC 28730 at noon, Gentry Heating and First Citizens Bank will present ABCCM with a check for heating assistance. In partnership with Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM), eleven branches of First Citizens Bank collectively raised $5,132.10 and Gentry Heating, Inc. provided a $5,000 matching gift. First Citizens Bank along with caring Buncombe County residents also collected 136 blankets. “Knowing that our efforts will help to provide heating assistance for individuals and families in our local community is very rewarding. Brother Wolf chapter projects will become independent non-profits

Over the next few weeks, Brother Wolf’s chapter projects in McDowell, Rutherford, and Dickenson counties will all become independent non-profit organizations. Brother Wolf originally began these auxiliary chapters with the intention of reducing the counties’ kill rates and ultimately developing each chapter into a self-sustaining, separate entity. After several years of growth, the chapters are ready to bring this goal to fruition.

Franny’s Farmacy Opens 3rd Location in Johnson City, TN

Two is better than one, and three is better than two; at least in the case of the newly launched Franny’s Farmacy – Johnson City, TN location. As a vertically integrated company, Franny’s Farmacy is one of the only hemp based brands specializing in “seed to shelf” CBD growth, production, manufacturing and selling. With two highly trafficked retail locations in Western North Carolina (Asheville and Hendersonville), the third location was bound to happen. But contrary to owners Jeff and Franny Tacy’s plans, a charismatic couple from Johnson City, TN (Derek and Dawn Wagner) approached the Tacy’s about replicating their proven successful model in their own city.
