Gearing up to open early July 2015, Edna's By The River will be located at 219 Amboy Road, in the same spot as the soon-to-open Asheville Food Park. This new location will not only feature an indoor cafe, but a drive through airstream trailer for coffee on the go. Local Radio Station WPVM Experiences Hostile Takeover

Since 2003, 103.7 WPVM has been a commercial free, listener supported, volunteer based radio station. Known as the the progressive voice of the mountains, this registered non-profit was founded to provide independent media to the Asheville community. Formerly licensed to the Mountain Area Information Network (MAIN), the station was an integral part of MAIN’s alternative media vision to enable citizens to financially support non-corporate news, music, and public affairs programming. As of May 8th, 2015, an FCC transfer of the station was complete which means that WPVM is now operating as its own not-for-profit-entity.

Take a Trip South with Lafayette’s Cajun and Creole Food

I visited Lafayette restaurant, the newest child of the Bouchon family, last weekend, during their opening week.  Chef Tref Hundertmark brings some of his experience in cooking in New Orleans to bear in the kitchen, and did a fairly good job on his work. However, I recommend this restaurant with some reservations about the dishes and with the hopes that he will take note of some of the items I found lacking.
