HIGHLAND BREWING ADDS HIGH PINES IPA TO YEAR-ROUND LINEUP IN MID-FEBRUARY

North Carolina’s largest native brewer is announcing the release of High Pines IPA – an imperial IPA brewed with Mosaic, Simcoe, Centennial, and Comet hops – as the latest addition to its year-round lineup. Hi-Wire Brewing Announces Plans for Wilmington, NC Taproom

North Carolina’s Hi-Wire Brewing continues to expand despite the turmoil of the global COVID-19 pandemic with the announcement of a fifth taproom set to open in Wilmington, North Carolina in fall of 2020. Chris Frosaker, co-owner of the Asheville-based brewery, states, “Steady retail, as well as geographic growth, is central to our business plan, even during a pandemic.” With three North Carolina retail taprooms and a fourth in Tennessee, Hi-Wire Brewing’s total distribution footprint has swelled to eight states since opening in 2013, including the expansion to Virginia in April of this year.

Sanctuary Brewing Company to Close Current Location, New Brewery to Open in Early June

 Sanctuary Brewing Company (SBC) will be closing the doors of its Hendersonville location in early June. Oklawaha Brewing Company, headed by Sanctuary Brewing Co-Owner and head brewer Joe Dinan will open in its place. “We think the transition will be a smooth one. We’ll be reopening with the same bar staff, the same great lineup of brews, and the same love for the Hendersonville community. We are super excited for the next phase, we’ll be making a few physical changes to the space and hope to hit the ground running once the Covid outbreak has passed. Until then we’ll continue to offer to-go and curbside pickup and will open back up for in house service as the local government allows.” Dinan said.

Catawba Brewing Painting South Slope Green with Two St. Patrick’s Day Events

Catawba Brewing Co. will throw two St. Patrick’s day events, starting with Paddy’s Day Irish Brunch from Blind Pig on Sunday, March 15. The brewery will continue the St. Patrick’s Day spirit on March 17 with live Irish tunes.
