Photograph Walkthrough: Spidey Con & Free Comic Book Day 2014

It was a busy week here in Asheville. Among the many events happening were two back to back days full of geek awesome. Friday May 2nd was Spidey Con at Carolina Cinemas on Hendersonville Road. To commemorate the second installment of The Amazing Spiderman movies, the people at Comic Envy, Multiverse Asheville, and Carolina Cinemas put together a Spiderman celebration. Attendees could partake in themed food and beer, enter the costume contest, and watch the movie on the big screen.

Asheville Forums, a new WNC networking website

Asheville, NC – A new website called AshevilleForums.com has made its way onto the Internet. A new startup and joint venture between two friends, AshevilleForums aims to be a landing destination for tourists and locals alike. “It is a place where people can gather and communicate outside of regular mass marketed websites such as City Data,” the founders explain. “We wanted to create an authentic experience for both locals and tourists to discuss the area.”

Asheville Community Children’s Chorus Auditions

The Asheville Community Children's Chorus will be holding auditions starting March 27 - April 6th in search of new members. The chorus is open to any/all children living in/around the Asheville community, who are ages 9-14, and have an interest in singing. The Asheville Community Children's Chorus puts on concerts of their own throughout the year and also provides many performance opportunities for its members around our community.

Comedian Jarrod Harris at The Millroom Friday 3/14/14

On Friday, March 14th, Asheville welcomes the uproariously funny stand-up Comedian Jarrod Harris in downtown Asheville for Funny Business at The Millroom’s comedy series for shows at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. Jarrod is the former writer for the hit web series ‘Action Figure Therapy,’ and also was the voice of “Jungle” on the series.
