Please fill out the form below to apply for consideration to receive one Feast Box. Each Feast Box is equipped with enough food to feed a family of five, and all traditional Thanksgiving Day meal items, including a frozen turkey, canned vegetables, pie, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and gravy. Families will receive their Feast Boxes a minimum of 3 days before the holiday, so that they can prepare the meal and add their own ingredients.

Asheville Outlets and Buncombe County Schools Host Countdown to Kindergarten

Starting kindergarten can be scary for both kids and their parents, so Asheville Outlets has teamed up with the Buncombe County Schools to create an event that will make that step just a little easier. On Tuesday, November 17th, over twenty-two schools and ten different county school curriculum departments will set up informational and interactive booths and displays in the Food Court at Asheville Outlets. Families with future kindergarten students are encouraged to attend to find out more about what to expect for the first year of school. The event takes place from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

North Carolina has one the highest percentages in the United States of children under 18 years of age who are food insecure on a regular basis: 26.1%, or 1 in 4 people. In fact, NC is home to cities that have the highest levels of food insecurities in the nation, Asheville being one of them. To help battle this issue, many organizations like Manna Food Bank and Food Connection exist to prevent food waste, and keep those in need equipped with basic food essentials. However, there are always families and individuals who slip through the cracks, or are in a temporary, but difficult situation who are in need of help especially with the upcoming holiday season.

Asheville School of Film Announces December Film Class Lineup

Asheville School of Film is a new, local film school focused on providing affordable part-time and weekend classes in film production for all experience levels.  The founders and primary instructors of the school have decades of experience as film school instructors and professionals.  They are currently awaiting renovations of their leased space in downtown to be completed. In anticipation of the completed school space, ASoF will hold several filmmaking classes in December.
