The purpose of the meeting is to update the community on the collaborative partnership between the City of Asheville, Buncombe County and Duke Energy on building a 21st Century electric energy infrastructure in our community. In addition to Mayor Manheimer, panelists will include Councilwoman Julie Mayfield, and a Robert Sipes, General Manager of Duke Energy’s Western Region.

Can we get an "Amen!"? Two years after its initial release, New Belgium Brewing’s RyePA is coming back with a nod to the brewer’s dual hometowns in Colorado and North Carolina. Originally brewed with Carolina Rye™, heirloom rye grown in North Carolina and floor malted by Riverbend Malt House in Asheville, RyePA revival also incorporates rye from Colorado Malting, a fourth-generation family farm in Alamosa, CO. Hi-Wire Brewing Announces Plans for Birmingham, AL Location
The brewer’s first Alabama taproom, set to open in late summer, will join Hi-Wire’s roster of soon-to-be ten taprooms. With expansions underway at both its Biltmore Village Production and South Slope Specialty breweries in Asheville, two additional locations are scheduled to open this year – Charlotte, N.C., in the spring and Cincinnati near the end of 2022. Alabama marks the fourth state in which the award-winning brewery will have premises with six facilities in Hi-Wire’s home state of North Carolina along with out-of-state taprooms in Knoxville, Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, and soon-to-be Cincinnati, Ohio.
