November 2015 marks Pastimes comic book stores' 35-year anniversary serving Asheville and the surrounding communities. The shop is honoring the monumental birthday by offering a huge 35% savings off most products in the store for the entire month of November. Pastimes also has plans for an all day giant birthday party on Saturday November 28th, with free comics, cake and fun for everyone! 35% of ALL profits that day will be donated to “Eblen Charities” for all the hard work they do for the community. Employees from Asheville, NC-based Tupelo Honey Cafe have launched a new online campaign on Coworker.org calling on the company to improve wages. The petition, started by Tupelo Honey employees with support from the Asheville Sustainable Restaurant Workforce (ASRW), states that in the past year, Tupelo Honey has cut back on discounts and food for staff while also reducing wages for support staff by over $3 per hour.
