20th Annual Brewgrass Festival Announced for 9/17/16

Brewgrass Festival, Western North Carolina’s original craft beer festival, is proud to announce its 20th anniversary event will be held on Saturday, September 17th at Memorial Stadium in Asheville, NC. Over 55 breweries will offer a diverse assortment of national and regional craft beers against a backdrop of Bluegrass-infused music. Wicked Weed Brewing, now in their fourth year, is launching their forth expansion, a barrel house and brewery dedicated to the production of sour ales, brettanomyces farmhouse ales, and spontaneous ales located in South Asheville, North
Carolina. The temperature controlled 57,000 square foot facility on 17 acres, will house a custom 30 barrel brew house specific to brewing sour and wild beers, as well as a robust barrel program that will include wine barrels, spirit barrels, puncheons, 90 hectoliter (2,500 gallon) oak foeders and several custom designed horizontal fermenters.

As Hi-Wire Brewing transitions their original Downtown Asheville brewery into a sour and wild ale facility to officially launch later this summer, they announce the release of a new, different line of limited specialty beers which they are calling the Single Barrel Series. All Single Barrel Series releases are small batches fermented 100% in oak barrels, bottle conditioned, and sold in cork and caged 750 ml bottles.
