Asheville gains a new retro video game store as Retro Age, a small southern branch of stores, sets to open in the Asheville Mall April 1st. Retro Age is owned and operated by Val Fisher, a recent transplant to Asheville. Asheville will be the third Retro Age store to open, the others in Georgia and Florida. The store buys and sells anything video game related, with the exception of PC games.

The Diana Wortham Theatre and Diamond Brand Outdoors announce their sixth annual “Step Out and Shop” event at Diamond Brand Outdoors’ South Asheville location in Parkway Center at 1378 Hendersonville Road, Thursday, November 17, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. The Step Out and Shop evening features a 20% storewide discount, raffle prizes, food and live music.

A long-standing supporter of Diana Wortham Theatre and sponsor of the theatre’s Mainstage Dance Series, Diamond Brand presents this evening of shopping with a storewide 20% discount* off its finest selection of brand name fashions, outdoor gear, and accessories. 10% of all store sales will be contributed to the theatre. While shopping, guests will enjoy live music and complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Headquartered in the Hickory Nut Gorge in historic Chimney Rock Village, the mine has long been a draw for tourists and locals alike.
