Flood Gallery and Fine Arts Center Re-opens in Swannanoa Valley

The Flood Gallery Fine Arts Center has moved from the River Arts District and re-opens September 17th at 2160 Hwy 70 near Swannanoa with an opening reception of Connie Bostic’s Art from 3pm to 9pm, performances by Ash Devine and other local singer song writers, and readings by authors of the Black Mountain Press. RED will be on display until October 30th.

Green Man Brewery To Release 20th Anniversary Variety Pack

Nearing its 20th anniversary, Green Man brewery has evolved quite a bit from its humble beginnings as the first brewery in the “brewery district” of Asheville, the South Slope. Most recently its growth is marked by the opening of the Greenmansion in March and its first cans out in the market this Summer. The latest development is a 20th Anniversary Variety Pack of cans that will be hitting all 5 states in Green Man’s distribution footprint this Fall.

RESONATE Festival Brings the Sound of Wellness to Downtown Asheville

Now in its third year, the RESONATE festival is set to elevate Asheville’s status as the source for all things sound, wellness and spirit. Held on October 1st and 2nd at the historic YMI Cultural Center, RESONATE will feature two days of workshops and concerts that inspire and empower. RESONATE explores the nexus of alternative healing modalities, the physics of sound healing, cymatics, neurobiofeedback, entrainment, and epigenetics. Further, the event provides a platform for professionals in the healing arts to tune up their toolbox and share their gifts with the community.

Burial Beer Announces Georgia Distributor Partnership

In early January 2016, Burial Beer Co. announced their plans for second brewery also located in Asheville, NC in addition to plans for a new side project. The brewery, which opened in 2013 with a one-barrel system, quickly outgrew the home-brew size brewery into a ten-barrel operation. Now, after operating for just over three years, the brewery will expand distribution to South Carolina, a move that follows closely on the heels of their announcement to expand into Georgia.
